Phillip Greene  

Director - Phillip Greene

Phillip has been with GRPS since March 2015. He earned his B.A. in Marketing from The Seidman College of Business – Grand Valley State University, and a M.A. in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Phillip has over 22 years of experience in the consumer products food industry. He has extensive account management, team leadership, and personnel development experience.

He is a member of the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO), the School Nutrition Association of Michigan (SNAM), and a Mentor in the Big Brother Big Sister Program. He has also participated as a Mentor for the Schools of Hope Reading Program, and is a committee member for the Academy of Design and Construction at GRPS.

Supervisor  - Jennifer Laninga

Jennifer has been with the department since 2007 and is a long time West Michigan native.  She earned her degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospital Management from Grand Rapids Community College.  She is a Serve-Safe Certified trainer and an active trainer for the School Nutrition Association of Michigan.

Dietician - Cathy Walter

Cathy joined our department in February 2020.  She is a Registered Dietician with a BS degree in Dietetics from Western Michigan University.  Cathy has over 23 years experience in clinical nutrition in the health care industry.  She is a Member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics & the Child Nutrition & School Nutrition Services practice groups.  Contact Cathy with Menu and Nutritonal questions.

Supervisor - Vincent Sturgis

Vincent has been with GRPS since April of 2016, he holds a culinary management degree from Grand Rapids Community College, B.A in hospitality management and a M.B.A from the University of Phoenix. Vincent has over 14 years in the hospitality industry working as an executive chef and director of food and nutrition in the healthcare field.

Vince has been volunteering in the community as a Chef Instructor helping educate families on healthy eating habits and help create delicious homemade meals.
