Following a full day of interviews with four superintendent candidates last Saturday, the Grand Rapids Board of Education is inviting Dr. Adrian Talley and Dr. Devon Horton for second round interviews tentatively scheduled for April 8. In addition, the Board is also considering one additional first round interviewee who was not available on Saturday for a potential interview on Monday, March 25. There were no internal GRPS applicants for the position.

The Board also asked the consultants from the Michigan Association of School Boards to develop and recommend how students, parents, staff, and the community may be more intentionally engaged on April 8 in advance of the interviews tentatively scheduled for that evening.

“We want to thank all of the individuals who applied for the superintendent position — particularly the four who participated in the first round interviews. From the beginning, we as a board have said we need to take the time to do this process right to ensure we have the best, most qualified candidate to be our next superintendent,” said Kristian Grant, president of the Grand Rapids Board of Education.
