GRPS Athletics Presents Community Soccer Classic

The Grand Rapids Public Schools Athletics Department is partnering with the Grand Rapids Spanish Soccer League to host the first Grand Rapids Public Schools Community Soccer Classic on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Houseman Field.

At 12:00pm, the Grand Rapids Spanish Soccer League will hold their level 2 championship game, followed by the level 1 championship game at 2:00pm. The games will be followed by a brief awards ceremony. Admission to the event and parking are free.

As part of this new partnership, the Grand Rapids Spanish Soccer League is assisting the GRPS Athletics Department with the coaching of the new elementary soccer program. Elementary soccer practices are underway and games begin on Saturday, October 6. Over 500 students have signed up to participate in the program.
