Dear Community Partner,
On May 25th we will be holding our Job Pursuit Family Night. The focus of the night will be to launch students into summer pursuits - an academic program, an internship, or a job with a community partner that prepares them for success in a future career path. However, we have realized that, although our students come first in our minds, the families can benefit even more from having all employable members in a job. We are inviting the parents and siblings to come ready to participate in this “job fair” for Innovation Central families.
The event will be held at Innovation Central High School at 421 Fountain St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI in the Main Gym area. We will start our program at 6 PM and we will have light snacks available for our families between interviews. The night will conclude by 8 PM. We plan to have tables set up for the various companies and translators will be available. If there are language difficulties presenting an obstacle for a potential employee, we will have the Literacy Center of West Michigan in attendance to help identify classes that individuals could enroll in to remove that barriers.
Please RSVP to me by close of business on Friday, May 5th, in order to plan accordingly. If you can provide us with a sample list of vacancies, we can use it to promote the event within our school community. We certainly hope you will join us with a list of vacancies that people can fill, hours, wages, and if applicable, benefits. Our students are eager, and I am certain our parents will be eager. It would be great for these families, great for our community, and we believe great for your companies.
We value you as a partner; we have heard the need for labor to fill vacancies; we want to give back to you by potentially supplying employees. You win, our families win and our community wins.
