Mission

The mission of Communications and External Affairs is to support the Grand Rapids Public Schools by providing high quality and effective communication, community engagement, and legislative advocacy.

We Are GR

We Are GR was launched in 2012 to replace the Grand Rapids Public Schools' "Highlights", as well as the City of Grand Rapids' "Parks and Recreation Guide". Readers receive the same level of information they were accustomed to reading, as well as information about Grand Rapids Public Schools' programs, the City's initiatives related to transformation, and new partnership opportunities between the two organizations. During the school year, GRPS also puts out a weekly electronic newsletter.

News Releases

GRPS issues frequent media advisories, news releases, and prepared statements regarding events, issues, people, and special projects related to the district and our schools. News releases can be viewed at www.wearegr.com. If you have an idea or issue related to GRPS that you believe is newsworthy, please This email address is being protected from spambots.
