Academy of Design & Construction (ADC) appeals to students with an interest in architecture, engineering, design, and construction by enriching its academic program with the active involvement of professionals and partnerships with business, institutions, and universities.

In addition to integrating the themes of design and construction throughout the curriculum, ADC exposes students to real world landmark structures, sites, and designs through field trips, hands-on learning, job shadowing, mentorships, and professional internships. Student are also able to earn college credit or credits toward post-secondary trades certification. Major partners include: Rockford Construction, Triangle Associates, Christman, Progressive AE, Michigan State University, Ferris State University, GRCC, and many more. The school serves students grades 9-12

West Michigan leads the nation when it comes to green building and design. Our region has also been heralded as one of the few economic bright spots that is still experiencing growth. GRPS worked with industry leaders responsible for that momentum to develop a cutting-edge curriculum for students looking to enter the global growth industry of design, engineering and construction.

Each student of the Academy of Design & Construction will be assigned an industry professional mentor and experience real-world field training in addition to learning core curriculum. Upon graduation, students will be ready to enter the job market, accelerate into vocational training, or pursue a specialized degree in a design, engineering or construction management program at a leading university.

Course offerings include: Blueprint Reading, Construction Drawings, Building Materials and Methods of Construction, Estimating, Architectural Detailing, Building Laws, Rendering Model, Building Specifications, Mechanical Design, Structural Design, Interior Design, Freehand Drawing, Architectural Design.
