On Friday, October 29th, over 200 student athletes and coaches from GRPS supported the GVSU Lakers in a home match against Tiffin University. Volleyball players from GR Ford, Westwood, Sherwood, Southwest Community Campus, Riverside, Ottawa Hills High, Harrison, Alger, and CA Frost experienced their first college athletic event.
Decked out in pink warm-ups and jerseys, the varsity players from Grand Valley scattered into the stands to high-five and talk to the GRPS students before the game. The “Dig-Pink” match was to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. After the game, the girls were allowed to go down onto the court and talk to their favorite player. Many of the girls took pictures with players from the team.
