How to Volunteer

We are looking for the following:

High School

v Game Help (crowd management, game set up, clean up, hospitality, score keeping, etc.)

v Special Events/Activities (planning, organizing, promoting)

v Equipment Managers

v Booster Organization (for all sports)

v Fundraisers

v Assisting coaches

v Concessions Stands

Middle School

v Game Help (crowd management, game set up, clean up, hospitality, score keeping, etc.)

v Special Events/Activities (planning, organizing, promoting)

v Equipment Managers

v Booster Organization (for all sports)

v Fundraisers

v Assisting coaches

v Concessions Stands

Elementary

v Volunteer Coaches for Soccer, Track and Field, Cross Country and Basketball

v Game Help (crowd management, game set up, clean up, hospitality, score keeping, etc.)

v Special Events/Activities (planning, organizing, promoting)

v Equipment Managers

v Concessions Stands

All Volunteers MUST:

Clear a REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK and complete a Volunteer Application Form or Volunteer Application in Spanish
Have a commitment to the role for which they volunteer
Be reliable and consistent in the role they serve as a volunteer
Have a strong desire for students to improve their overall school performance academically and athletically
Have a positive impact on students and appropriate student/adult relationships and interactions
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all other school personnel, coaches, other volunteers and parents
Possess some specialized knowledge or experience in the role for which they volunteer
Be willing to participate in staff trainings and staff meetings
Have a focus to improve the educational experience for all students in your role as a volunteer
Be an ambassador for all Grand Rapids Public Schools programs by speaking positively about the district and the work it does on behalf of all students
