Before Christmas break, Mr. Abissi’s 11thand 12thgrade design students started selling Michigan shaped Adirondack chairs as a fundraiser to buy a 3D printer. The fundraiser had a great deal of success with an article in the Grand Rapids Press, and a story on WoodTV8 and Fox17. February 10th, design students met ambassador Secchia in his office in the Amway Grand to show off their work, and try to raise some money for the school.  The ambassador liked the students work and decided to purchase 10 chairs and donate an extra $250 to purchase a 3D printer making a total purchase of $1750.00. The fundraiser was an excellent learning opportunity for design students, giving them real life business, design, and carpentry experience.
